Computer Vision Techniques for Computer Graphics, CV4CG


Though there are a lot of similarity between the mathematics of Computer Graphics (CG) and Computer Vision (CV), both fields have been developed rather independently. CG deals with transforming models into rendered images while CV mainly deals with transforming captured images into models. In CG, if we want to generate 3D images of physical objects or worlds, then we would first need to create models of those objects or worlds and based on those models render the objects or worlds as computer generated images. Very often, the generated images may not look as real as the actual physical ones and the complexity of the rendering process growth exponentially with the complexity of the objects or worlds. To overcome this problem, many techniques originated from CV have been introduced into CG so that models can be derived directly from images or sequence of images (videos).


Papers presenting original research with the theme of "Computer Vision Techniques for Computer Graphics" are being sought. Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):
